Extending the life of your hearing aid battery

These simple tips can help you get the most out of your hearing aid batteries:

  • Open the battery door when your hearing aids aren't in use.
  • Only remove the battery label right before you're ready to use it.
  • Use a dehumidifier overnight for your hearing aids.
  • Avoid buying expired batteries and try to purchase only what you need in the near future.
  • Use your older batteries first.

Time for a fresh battery?

Your hearing aids will let you know when their batteries are running low with a helpful warning sound. Here's how to put in new ones:
  • Fine a clean, flat surface to work on.
  • Remove the sticky label from the new battery (it's on the shiny, positive side). Give it a few minutes before you pop it in.
  • Once you've removed the label, use the battery right away to avoid losing any power.
  • Remember to keep your used batteries in a container so you can bring them to our clinic for recycling.

Need a hand? The exact steps might be a little different depending on your hearing aid model. Feel free to contact your store for help, or check out our video guides for Behind-the-Ear (BTE) and In-the-Ear (ITE ) hearing aids.

Responsible battery disposal and donation

At Bloom Hearing Specialists, we care about the environment and our community. Here's how you can help by responsibly disposing of your old batteries:

  • Safe disposal: It's important to dispose of used hearing aid batteries properly. Throwing them in the rubbish can be harmful to the environment.
  • Store safely: Store your used batteries in a sealed container to prevent loss or accidental ingestion.
  • Convenient recycling: Bring your used batteries to any Bloom store for eco-friendly recycling.

Sharing is caring: Have extra batteries you don't need? Donate them at our store – we'll make sure they go to someone who can use them.
